An employee disrupted Microsoft’s 50th anniversary celebration by calling the firm a “war profiteer.” The Verge said that Ibtihal Aboussad interrupted Mustafa Suleyman, the CEO of Microsoft AI, during his address. Now, according to the story, Aboussad has been fired.
“Earlier today, at Microsoft’s 50th anniversary event in Redmond, Seattle, you disrupted a speech by Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman by yelling and pointing fingers at the CEO in front of thousands of people, and making hostile, unprovoked, and extremely inappropriate accusations against the CEO, the Company, and Microsoft in general,” Microsoft emailed Aboussad. The business also claimed that he acted aggressively. Microsoft Canada was where Aboussad was employed.
It is “also concerning that you have not apologized to the company, and in fact you have shown no remorse for the effect that your actions have had and will have to the company,” Microsoft informed Aboussad.
During the event, Aboussad yelled at the CEO of Microsoft AI as Suleyman was speaking to the crowd. “You should feel ashamed. You are making money off of conflict. Stop committing genocide with AI. Don’t use AI to commit genocide in our area. Your hands are covered in blood. There is blood on the hands of Microsoft as a whole. How dare you all rejoice while Microsoft is murdering kids? Shame on all of you.
